Intel Innovation pada tahun 2021 kemarin telah menghadirkan sebuah chipset untuk desktop terbarunya lewat Intel Alder Lake Gen 12 yang di claim saat ini menjadi processor terkuat yang diluncurkan Intel dengan berbasis performance hybrid architecture. Keluarga Intel Alder Lake Gen 12 akan hadir sebanyak 50 lebih varian untuk menunjang segala keperluan konsumen dan salah satu varian terkencang yaitu Intel Core i9-12900K.
Keunggulan varian tertinggi dari Intel Core i9-12900k ini fokus pada pangsa pasar seperti para gamers, editor maupun animator yang ingin mengungguli proses kinerja mereka dengan kecepatan 5,2 GHz , 16 core dan 24 thread. Hybrid architecture performance yang dibangun menggunakan teknologi proses Intel 7 yang mampu menghadirkan performa skalabilitas dari 9 watt hingga 125 watt.
Core i9-12900K diklaim mampu menyajikan peningkatan FPS hingga 50% pada game APEX LEGENDS, peningkatan FPS hingga 54% lebih pada game Hitman 3, dan peningkatan FPS hingga 46% pada game Far Cry 6. Untuk para editor dan animator, Processor Intel Gen 12 ini dapat memberikan kemampuan rendering yang semakin cepat dari generasi sebelumnya berkat teknologi DDR5 dengan kecepatan hingga 4800MT/s. Intel Gen 12 is also equipped with PCIe 5.0 storage technology up to 16 lanes which offers up to twice the I/O throughput of PCIe 4.0 with an additional up to four lanes through PCIe 4.0 support. Then, there is Intel Smart Cache (L3) of up to 30MB and L2 cache of up to 14MB for increased memory capacity and reduced latency. This unlocked Intel Gen 12 desktop processor is now available through a pre-order program for consumers that can be obtained through participating OEMs and retailers. Priced from $264 to $589, Intel is expected to ship hundreds of thousands of Intel Gen 12 desktop processors by the end of 2021 and more than 2 million by the end of March 2022. Meanwhile, Intel will roll out Intel Gen 12 to other broader markets for desktops. , mobile and commercial devices by early 2022.
